Menopause Help with YLEOs

by ~Aunt Mae (~Mrs. R) on August 10, 2013

Orange, Lemon, Lavender, groupCan I talk to you about menopause and menopausal symptoms  for a moment and let you know how the YL essential oils have helped me?  Yes, this will be a woman’s only post for those men who read my blog.  ;-)

Common Menopausal symptoms are: hot flashes, mood swings, night sweats, irregular periods, loss of libido, vaginal dryness, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, memory lapses, and a number of others.

I started peri-menopause about 8 years ago and menopause for about 2 – 3 years now.  I stopped having any monthly cycle about a year ago and had only one in each of the 2 preceding years before that.  My hot flashes are fairly short in duration, but will bring beads of sweat upon my brow and upper lip along with a reddening of my face and neck!  My brother calls them “personal summers of topic proportions”… and they ARE. There have also been times when I will have these in my sleep and will be awakened because I am too hot!  I had severe fatigue at the onset of menopause.  So much so that The Patriarch was very concerned about me.  But that was many years before I had even heard of Young Living.

I have also had difficulty with concentration and memory lapses.  Mostly loosing my train of thought in the middle of my sentence or unable to think of the word I want to use.  The mood swings just tend toward being crabby for no apparent reason.  I hate that.  I guess the one good symptom, now that I am a widow, is the lack of libido.

I have tried natural progesterone creams and have found little relief from them.  Not all creams are of the same quality.  One did an OK job at helping with my menopausal symptoms, but I can’t find it anymore!  Then with the need to cycle the application my symptoms would reappear with a vengeance in the times when I wasn’t supposed to use the natural cream.

Progessence PlusI have been using Young Living’s Progessence Plus Serum to balance my hormones and to help with other symptoms.  One tiny drop is all it takes, I don’t need to cycle the application through the month.  Nor do I have to rotate the area of the body I apply this.   That alone is a huge help to my tired, memory-taxed brain.  The lack of hot flashes makes it doubly good!

I also use the Peace & Calming for balancing my emotions.  This makes for a much happier family!  :-)  I apply this topically or diffuse it!  Love the smell.

Cedarwood & Lavender Sleep ComboMy next favorite oils to diffuse are to help me sleep.  I combine Cedarwood and Lavender at a 3 – 1 ratio.  I adore the aroma and this helps with deep sleep.  I’ve been waking up much more refreshed in the mornings when I diffuse this.
